I Have Never Lost a Battle

You have not been disqualified.

Your trauma did not disqualify you. Your addiction, abortion, lack of education, pant size, or bitterness has not disqualified you.

Psalm 119:142 says, “Your righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and Your law is truth.” It means, my right standing with God has no end and if it has no end, I cannot do anything to get kicked out.

Jesus paid the price so that we might share in the righteousness of God through Him. You have met all of the requirements to stand in the presence of the King of Kings as a son and daughter. When my heavenly Father looks at me He doesn’t see a liability, He sees His restorative mercy. He sees redemption. He sees purpose.

Let’s take a moment and try to wrap our brain around unconditional love.

A love without limits, no boundaries, no expectations, no fine print. This is love in the purest sense. Because of this love, we walk in righteousness, we walk in good standing. We can stand in the presence of our God like we’ve never lost a battle. There is nothing in your past that can come back and stamp you disqualified or defeated. God decides your worth, and He decided before you were ever born that you were worth Jesus.

So the next time you hear whispers of defeat and guilt and shame, you respond with “I am made right with God, an everlasting God that does not change his mind and who is not a liar!”
